Maybelline Polka Dots

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots - These are limited addition nail polishes from the drugstore/high street. It took me a while to find a store that still had some in stock so they are obviously very popular. They are definitely very good dupes for the Illamasqua Speckle Nail Polishes (however they are more nude colours), i have never tried these but have heard good things about them, they are more pricey at £14.50 unlike the Maybelline ones which are at £2.99.
There are four shades all together, a pink, a dark blue and a clear with black and white pieces, i couldn't find the colours however i have looked at swatches online and i would say my favourite is Rain Forest Canopy (the one i managed to get). The formula of these are sheer, however that is understandable as you wouldn't be able to see the matte glitter chunks over the pigment. A way to over come this would to wear a base coat a similar colour however  personally don't think it looks that bad, as your attention is more too the speckles.

200 Rain Forest Canopy
I've said before about how much i love the Color Show range (mainly how much i love the brush and how long lasting they are)  and these is no exception here. I am a big fan of this polka dot trend (definitely prefer it too the crackle one, anyone remember that?). As it is essentially glitter that is in the nail polish it is pretty difficult to remove (however not as bad as some glitter polishes i own), so as bad as it probably is for my cuticles i soak my nail in some varnish for a couple of seconds and then wipe away on a cotton round, (i do make sure i don't use glitter that often).

If you see any of these Polka Dot  nail varnishes i would definitely recommend them, at only £2.99 you can't go wrong. However if you can't find them anywhere a little blog told me that in a couple of months L'Oreal are releasing some similar ones, so keep your eyes peeled for those!

I was also wearing this nail polish in my 'Coral Lips' blog post.
